Beaver Scouts from 2nd Thurso and Reay spent time enjoying art at the North Coast Visitor Centre in Thurso – and having a go themselves.

The youngsters, aged between 6 and 8, were invited by Ian Pearson, the chairman of the Society of Caithness Artist who is also a Beaver Scout leader.

The purpose of the visit was to engage as many people as possible about the different aspects of art. Beavers took part in a quiz based on the exhibits in the exhibition which is titled “Change”. They then had a go at drawing their own interpretations of the artwork on display.

Ian, who took the Beavers to the Thurso venue along with fellow leader Sandra Carson, explained that the Beavers thoroughly enjoyed seeing this exhibition and for some it was their first visit to an art exhibition. He thanked all the staff at the North Coast Visitor Centre for making this visit possible.

The Beavers earned their Creative badge during the visit.

Any groups interested in visiting the exhibition are invited to contact the Society of Caithness Artists for further information.
