Apprentices involved in jelly fight for dome bid

THURSO Town Centre was ‘desserted’ when staff from Dounreay were raising awareness to turn an iconic landmark into jelly.

Seven apprentices from DSRL helped promote the bid of Caithness Horizons for award winning artists Bompas and Parr to create a jelly mould of the Dounreay Dome.

Its entry has been whittled down to the final three of Culture 24’s competition which is giving entrants the chance to have a local landmark made out of the sweet treat.

Caithness Horizons currently lies in second place with 35% of the vote with the SS Great Britain in Bristol currently in the lead with 50%.

Caithness Horizons are putting out a plea to residents in the Far North to log on and vote for its entry before the closing date of Monday, March 5 at 5pm.
