Anna’s design scores a win in hospital memorial garden
THE newest addition to the Town and County Hospital’s memory garden is a wall mural depicting what Wick Academy Football Club means to one pupil from Pulteneytown Academy.
The pupils from Pulteneytown Academy were recently asked to design a picture showing what the football club meant to them and, thanks to Kellie Cook, the school secretary and art teacher Bob Beaumont and there was an excellent response and a good selection of entries.
The winning entry was designed by Anna Swanson, p7, and her design has now been turned into a mural thanks to funding from Clair Harper, president of Wick Academy Football Club, who also donated the prize for the winning entry.
Iain McHardy, acting senior charge nurse, said: “I was most impressed with the quality of the entries for the competition and the mural will certainly be a good addition to our memory garden.
“This competition has helped us build links with the local school and I would like to thank Kellie Cook and Bob Beaumont for their time and of course Clair Harper for his generosity and support.”

The Friends of Town and County Hospital Garden appealed for help earlier in the year in making the garden space at the hospital a therapeutic, enjoyable, accessible space for patients, their relatives and friends.
