AN online chat about alcohol issues is taking place next week.

The event, which is being hosted by the Highland Alcohol and Drug Partnership (HADP), will be looking at some of the key issues relating to drink.

It will focus on the availability, affordability, accessibility and acceptance – and the need to promote the idea that prevention is better than cure when comes to reducing the harm caused by alcohol.

HADP co-ordinator Deborah Stewart said: “We would encourage people to get online and join us in a live Facebook chat to discuss a number of issues about changing the Highland relationship with alcohol – in particular about reducing the affordability and availability of alcohol and our the acceptance of excessive alcohol use in society.

“There will be a number of representatives from different agencies who are committed to ensuring that the over provision of alcohol is tackled and they will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. It’s a fantastic opportunity to have a one-on-one discussion with experts.”

The HADP Facebook chat will take place between 6pm and 7pm on the NHS Highland Facebook page at www.facebook.com
