Scorer - Berwick: Currie (89 pen).

A tale of two penalties left Wick Academy heartbroken as they crashed out of the Scottish Cup.

Academy had the chance to get their second round tie off to a dream start when they were awarded a penalty after five minutes as Davie Allan was downed in the box.

Captain Sam Mackay took the spot kick, but his shot was saved by Youssef Bejaoui.

Berwick dominated the first half but failed to trouble Michael Gray in a dull opening.

Both sides created chances in the second half and Steven Cunningham almost gave the visitors the lead 12 minutes from time when he got on the end of a Mackay cross, but was well saved by Bejaoui.

Berwick were to progress to the third round when Stuart Noble was judged to have been pushed to the ground by Grant Steven in the box.

Lee Currie then converted the spot kick to seal the win.
