WICK Academy put all their troubles behind them with a sensational performance to power their way into the North of Scotland cup final.

The Scorries never looked in trouble of losing to Brora Rangers as the home side dominated from start to finish in front of a 1000 plus crowd.

The deadlock was broken after 21 minutes when Sam Mackay whipped in a free kick to find the head of Craig Shearer who powered past Alistair Ridgers.

Two minutes later Richard Macadie doubled the lead when he unleashed a 25 yard scorcher into the bottom left hand corner.

The game was put beyond doubt two minutes after the interval when Sam Mackay chased down the left wing before playing the ball inside to find James Pickles, who blasted home from the edge of the box to give the Orcadian his first goal for the club.

Wick Academy will face Nairn County in the final at Grant Street Park, Inverness on Saturday, October 20.
