A99 closed after Thrumster blaze





A HOUSE fire at Thrumster closed the A99 road to traffic while a fire crew dealt with the blaze for over two hours on Monday evening.

The fire took hold in the roof space of a bungalow, with a call being made to the emergency services at 7.54pm.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "A fire occurred in a single-storey dwelling in the roof space."

She confirmed that four of the crew used breathing apparatus along with two hosereel jets and four main water jets to get the fire under control.

The blaze was confirmed to be extinguished by 10.38pm.

No casualties were reported.
