A9 closed at Spittal in both directions due to a serious crash

The A9 is closed between Mybster, B870, and Latheron, A99, in both directions after a two vehicle crash.

Emergency services have been sent to the scene following the collision.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said the incident happened around 3pm this afternoon.

Traffic Scotland reported the road closure at around 3.30pm today.

A spokesperson from Traffic Scotland stated: "Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use an alternative route."
