A9 closed south of Helmsdale after motorbikes crash





Two motorbikes have been involved in a serious collision on the A9 between Brora and Helmsdale.

The road is currently closed as investigations take place, with a diversion via Lairg in operation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a crash between two motorcycles on the A9 Victoria Road, Brora around 11.20am on Tuesday, September 20.

“A woman and a man have been taken by helicopter to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

“The road is currently closed with a diversion via Lairg in place.”

Traffic Scotland said the road was closed in both directions at Lothmore due to a road traffic incident.

Road users are advised to use caution on approach and expect delays.

There was no information about the condition of the casualties.
