A9 at Portgower now open after six-hour closure due to road crash

The A9 south of Portgower is open to traffic again following a road collision in the early morning.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A crash involving three vehicles on the A9 near to Helmsdale was reported to police at 7.50am.

“Two men were taken to hospital and the road has now reopened.”

It is understood traffic began to flow freely at around 2.15pm.
