All smiles but Wick pool team lose out

IT was all smiles for the camera on Friday as Wick A team readied themselves for the long trip south to Pettycur Bay in Fife for the Scottish Pool Association's Super 15s tournament.

The 15-man (plus one reserve) team of hopefuls, representing the Wick and District Pool League, came together for their first professional outing but lost out at the weekend.

John Morris Malcolm said: "We were in a very hard group. The lads played well and gave it their best but unfortunately we didn’t gain promotion.

"It was always going to be a learning experience with new pressures, a new environment and the calibre of the opposition we were up against.

"We take a lot of positives from the experience and look forward to the next event – the Super 11s in April 2020."

The team is sponsored by Old Pulteney, Blackstairs Lounge and Aaron's of Wick.
