A steadfast anchor who never changes

FOOD FOR THOUGHT by Rev Janet Easton-Berry, Pentland Parish

Being new to Caithness I haven’t experienced the "real" weather here. I am told to expect four seasons in one day. The view from the manse is absolutely stunning – it looks over to Stroma and Orkney. Some days the sea is lovely and calm, and on other days it is wild with crashing waves. Just like life!

Some days all seems well, and other days seem so turbulent. There are times you feel that you are about to sink. You feel pressured from every side and are not sure what your next step should be. You feel like you are being pushed along by the currents of the storm and feel out of control, and you wonder when the difficult times will pass.

Jesus promises to be with us through everything we experience in life – He will never leave us, we are never alone, even though at times we may feel this way. He is a steadfast anchor, who never changes – He is always faithful, always constant, always loving, and always keeps his promises.

So no matter what you are facing today, remember that Jesus is always with you, he is your secure anchor. You can rest in Him and draw your strength from him. He will carry you through any storm and be the security that you need.
