Over £500 raised for women's support groups at fashion show in Wick
A FASHION show in Wick has raised just over £500 for three women's support groups. The event, which was held in M&Co's store in the town, featured a group of models who took to the catwalk to benefit the various bodies.
A total of £503 was raised in a raffle with the money going to the three North Highland women's wellbeing hub support groups for endometriosis, menopause and general women's health support.
Spokeswoman, Kirsteen Campbell, said the hub became constituted in June and since then has gone from strength to
strength. She said: "We use the hub to run our support groups, raise awareness on all things women's health related and campaign for safe local services for gynaecology. "
Kirsteen, Rebecca Wymer and Claire Clarke run the hub using their own experience of living with long-term gynaecological conditions.
"It has really opened up lots of conversations locally, conversations that would have been taboo subjects in the past," stated Kirsteen.

She added: "We are delighted to announce that working with Lyth Arts centre we are going to host a women's wellness festival on Sunday, March 19 at Lyth with guest speakers, workshops, information & awareness stalls and local women in business stalls. We will also have some fringe events on the Saturday again in Lyth."
