A CAITHNESS firm has done berry well in a prestigious national food award.
Berry Good, which produces fruit-infused spirits and was set up by Jill Brown in Watten in 2008, struck gold with two of its products – Raspberry Gin and Straight Strawberry Vodka.
Each received two gold stars at the Guild of Fine Food’s annual Great Taste Awards.
A thrilled Jill Brown said: “We’re absolutely delighted to get not only one, but two products awarded two gold stars each.
“It is very much a family business and thanks must go to the rest of the Team BG: Sheena, Peter, Shona and Jocky.
“We have had a busy week with the Black Isle Show and the Highland Field and Sports at Moy Hall, then we’re away to London in September for the Speciality Fine Food Show, which is our first trade fair south of the border.
“In addition, our online shop will be launched in October with exclusive gift sets only available directly from Berry Good.”
The business uses Scottish ingredients and traditional infusion methods for its products. The majority of its fruit is sourced from Wester Hardmuir Fruit Farm in Nairn.
When Berry Good started there were only two product lines but there are now 12 and that figure is expanding each year.
