WEEKS 15 and 16 in the Wick Wheelers’ 10-mile Time Trial League took a beating from the wind as times suffered.

But the weather wasn’t going to stop some ever-present members taking valuable points on offer with only four sessions to go this season.

In week 15, youngsters Callum Sutherland and Mark Webster continued to perform well during their first season with hopefully an aim to build on their recent personal best times.

Joan Henry also managed week 15 to claim the ladies’ TT points trophy as she remains sixth overall on the points league.

The battle between Charlie Mackay and Stuart Anderson was tight but Mackay managed to come in five seconds ahead to take third.

In recent times Ben Arnold has started to close in on Graeme Clyne as seen in the time gaps between the two. However, Clyne was able to keep the gap to take first place in a time of 24.34.

Week 16 proved to be a lot harder on the 11 who took part and times suffered.

This time round, Anderson managed to beat Mackay to take third with the times constantly close.

Attention was turned once again to the front two of Arnold and Clyne. With the wind strength taken into consideration, it was always going to be close and the margin was only 29 seconds.

Clyne enjoyed first place for the 14th time this year, and he is aiming to take the points league over the next four weeks – he only needs to complete one to secure the trophy with the best 15 TT position points over the 21 races during the season.

Mackay has a fight on his hands as Arnold’s end-of-season form continues to eat away at the former’s advantage of a better start to the season.

On Tuesday, three members took part in a 25-mile time trial. Mackay took the win but, yet again, Anderson was hot on his wheels to push him all the way.
