Wick High School netball teams have been competing in the Scottish Schools Cup.

The S2 team was drawn against Thurso High School and Kirkwall Grammar and, after some closely fought games, the Wick girls came third in the group. They will progress to the plate stage of the competition.

The S3 team travelled to Fortrose on the Black Isle to play Fortrose Academy and Kingussie High School.

The Wick girls played brilliantly and came out on top in both games. In their first game against Fortrose they won 42-5, then defeated Kingussie High 29-11.

That left them sitting top of their group alongside Thurso High and they will progress to the cup stage of the competition.

Wick High’s senior team had a tough tie in which they lost out to Gordonstoun School. They then won away to Inverness Royal Academy to finish second in their group and advance to the next stage.
