Wick golfer Dougie Thorburn wins at Royal Dornoch at North Golf Winter Alliance

Dougie Thorburn has claimed back to back wins in the North Golf Winter Alliance after taking victory at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.

Following victory at Wick Golf Club two weeks ago, Thorburn claimed another win on Saturday, winning in Sutherland by two shots with a 73 to claim the £30 winning prize.

Tain golfer Billy Ferries finished runner-up with a 75 to claim the £20 prize.

In the category one section Thurso's David Dunbar edged Reay's Tom Ross thanks to a better inward half after both finished with a net 73.

Charley Finlayson from Tain won the category two section thanks to a better inward half after being level with Donald Morrison from Durness and Jake Anderson from Reay with a net 73.

Angela Grant from Brora won the ladies tournament with a net 84.
