WICK Golf Club’s annual mixed foursomes competition turned into an international event when a French couple entered and ended up winning the scratch trophy.

Tourists Laurence and Stephane Ygorra, whose home club is a few miles from Paris, received the trophy from Gary Leishman, the chef at Ackergill Tower which sponsors the event.

Local players Hannah McLean and Alistair Grant took the handicap trophy.

Results: Scratch: 1, L. & S. Ygorra 79. Handicap: 1, H. McLean & A. Grant 69; 2, C. & J. Hunter 71.5; 3, M. Mackay & A. Mackay 72; 4, M. Sinclair & R. Sutherland 72.5.

Par threes: E. Manson & M. Macdonald. Better outward: D. & H. Cormack. Better inward: C. & R. Place.
