Wick Academy will begin their 2021/22 campaign with a trip to face Forres Mechanics as the Moray club return to the Highland League after a year out.

The newly published fixture list sees the Scorries visiting Mosset Park on the opening day, Saturday, July 24.

The Can-Cans opted to pull out of the 2020/21 season, citing the health, wellbeing and safety of players and staff and their families as well as the wider community amid the uncertainty over Covid-19.

In the event they didn't miss much, as most teams had played only two games before the season was brought to a halt.

Academy's last match against Forres was in January last year when the Can-Cans were 2-0 winners at Harmsworth Park, two months before Covid ended the 2019/20 campaign.

Turriff United will be the first team to visit relegated Brechin City, who became the 18th Highland League club after dropping down from League Two of the Scottish Professional Football League.

Champions Brora Rangers visit Deveronvale on the opening day, while Buckie Thistle start with a Moray derby at home to Lossiemouth.
