The rain may have fallen all day long at Thurso Bowling Club on Saturday but the eight teams in the Fraser Round Robin Triples kept their spirits up and carried on.

The format of the day gave each team five games.

With most teams needing a good result in their last game, the tension was high but only four teams could make it to the semi-final and final knockout.

The semi-finals were good, close games with the team of Alec Mackay, John McGill and Ali Gray meeting Janet Sinclair, Julie Knapp and Allan Swanson in the final.

Ali, Alec and John got off to a flying start, leaving Allan, Julie and Janet chasing the game all the way through, with the former group going on to win.

This Saturday sees the last bowls competition of the season, the Nominated Fun Pairs.
