Wick weightlifter Steven Macallan was crowned the first ever men's winner of the Highland Weightlifting Club National Level Olympic competition.
Louise Mackenzie from Thurso also created history by becoming the first ever women's champion which was held at the Inverness Leisure Centre.
The Highland Weightlifting Club organised the competition with a vision of bringing Olympic Weightlifting to the Highlands.
There were also gold medals for Jim Kennedy, Rose Bennet, Jordan Bowie, Matej Papp and Andrew Galloway, with Katie Feguson, Hayleigh Wishart, Sarah Boussaikouk and Dawn Chessor also medalling.
Club chairman Steve Walsh was delighted with the success of the competition.
With over 30 lifters competing and a packed audience all day, the competition exceeded all of our expectations, that we had an equal split of male and female lifters speaks volumes for the inclusive approach that we have taken.
