Thurso golf trio in McDonald Bowl triumph at Brora

From a field of 22 teams in Brora Golf Club's Three-Lady Team competition on Saturday, topping the table were the Thurso trio of Laura Durrand, Emma Durrand and Jean Sutherland.

They triumphed with a best-ball score of 55 to win the McDonald Bowl.

The visitors' outward card of 30 featured a nett one on the ninth hole and a second nett one on their inward card of 25 at the 16th hole. In second place with a nett card of 61 (33/28) came the local winners, Susan Smith, Mary Fortune and Anne Clark, of the Duncan Trophy which is confined to Sutherland club teams.

Third place, with 62, was earned by Lynne Fraser (F&R), Liz Coghill (RDGC) and Jeani Hunter (BBA).
