Thurso-based AG Coaching takes youth football training to Wick and Brora
Thurso-based AG Coaching is extending its youth football training activities to Wick and Brora this summer.
More than 250 youngsters aged from two to 15 have signed up for the series of sessions, which include two one-day camps in Thurso.
AG Coaching founder Alyn Gunn says the response so far has been “quite staggering”.

Each of the sessions will have a player of the day, sponsored by Amour Flex, with each of the winners receiving a pair of shin pads.
“These sessions are on top of our upcoming Manchester United event in July and a Charlie Miller Football Academy event in August,” Alyn explained. “If all participants were added together we would have over 500 youngsters involved in football over the summer holidays.”
The first of the sessions will take place on Friday, July 4, at the Dammies.
“I am excited by what’s ahead this summer,” Alyn said. “A lot of people are signing their children up to the sessions.
“I had been asked by people to do sessions in Wick and Brora and I felt this was the time to try it and see how the numbers looked, and I’m pleased to say that they have exceeded expectations.
“Hopefully this will be the start of doing sessions more regularly in these areas as there is certainly a demand for it.”
The Thurso one-day camp this Friday is for ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-15. A further one-day camp in Thurso is scheduled for Tuesday, August 5, also at the Dammies, for the same age groups, as well as a girls-only session for ages 5-12.
Football coaching at the Brora Primary School field is planned for Tuesday, July 22, for ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-15.
A Wick one-day camp is scheduled for Monday, August 4, at the Bignold Park, for ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-15.
Footy with Bluey will take place at the Rise Dance Academy studio in Thurso on Friday, August 15, for ages 2/3 and 4-6.
Manchester United coaches will be in Thurso for a Premier League Experience on July 9 and 10 at the Dammies for ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-15.
AG Coaching will again team up with the Charlie Miller Football Academy with sessions for ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-15 at the Dammies on August 13 and 14.
