Wick Academy's David Allan nearly salvaged a goal for the side in the 93rd minute.

Wick Academy failed to keep the score level on an even keel against Fraserburgh.

The Broch made their intent to take the three points clear as soon as the game started.

However it was Wick’s Stevie Cunningham that hit the back of the net first after striker Davie Allan was taken down in the box by Fraserburgh’s Bryan Hay.

Cunningham lined up the penalty and sent the keeper the wrong way, just 15 minutes into the game.

Four minutes later Fraserburgh equalised with Willie West heading home a cross from a corner.

Broch’s Allan Hale added to the visitor’s tally on the 27 minute mark.

Despite a valiant effort from Academy’s Richard Macadie in the 44th minute the Scorries failed to pull a goal back in the first half.

Wasting no time after the re-start West got his second goal for the Aberdeenshire outfit, -drifting the ball in at close range past Academy’s Allan Bokas.

Wick started to fight back in the second half but their efforts received no award.

A last ditch attempt by Davie Allan in the 93rd minute of the game ended up wide.

The pacy striker ran up the wing but was stopped in his tracks by the Broch’s solid defence.

His shot ended up going round the outside of the right post.
