Sutherland is champion as Davidson falls at final hurdle
The county singles and pairs attracted a magnificent turnout of 106 entries at the Seaforth Highlanders’ Club in Wick.
There were some breathtaking performances, none more so than Harper’s “B” player Sid Davidson hitting six 180s.
But he fell at the final hurdle as Aidan Sutherland (Castletown Poachers) became the Simpson Contractors/Oils county champion with a 3-1 victory.
Losing semi-finalists were Kevin Macgregor (Seaview) and Donald Sutherland (Comm).
The pairs also saw success for Castletown Poachers as Willie Plank and Kevin Donald came out on top, beating Seaview pair Kevin Macgregor and Ryan Campbell.
Freda Perry defeated Julie Donald in the ladies’ final. Losing semi-finalists were Kara Sutherland and Morgan Perry, with all four players representing Seaforth.
Freda won the pairs with Kara Sutherland, defeating Alison Tait and Morgan Perry in the final.
Meanwhile, Smiddy “3” are confirmed as second division champions in Wick and District Darts League.
