Stableford success for Greig after a barrage of birdies

Open competitions at the other clubs in the county meant it was a quiet weekend on the course at Reay, but there was still plenty of midweek action to keep players occupied on home turf.

A barrage of birdies at the third, sixth and 15th from Stuart Greig saw him win the latest round of the North Point Distillery Senior Stableford competition with an excellent tally of 44 points.

Solid halves of 41 and 43 gave Alistair Gunn a round of 84 for 39 points and second place. Colin Struthers, and Malcolm Thomson, who birdied the sixth, shared third place on 35 points.

The monthly nearest-the-pin prize courtesy of the sponsors was bagged by David Gisbey.
