WICK Academy co-manager Richard Hughes says that he has not ruled out applying for the position of manager on an individual basis.

Last month along with co-manager Ian Munro he handed in his resignation after the duo claimed they had taken the team as far they could.

However, rumours on the terraces suggest that Hughes may be interested in taking up the role on his own.

Hughes would not confirm or deny the story, stating: "There is nothing to be said at the moment, we’ll just see how things go."

Wick Academy chairman Colin Stewart would not reveal the names of any applicants, but said the club hopes to make a decision by next week.
