Reay Golf Club: Medal for Munro after fine round of 76
Saturday saw the men competing for the Nuvia October Medal at Reay.
Colin Munro secured the silverware after a fine round of 76 for nett 68 which included a brace of birdies at the third and ninth holes.
Willie Williamson finished in second place after halves of 46 and 48 gave him a score of 94 for nett 72. Andy Bain and Fred Groves were next best after both fired rounds of nett 73.
Fred Groves won round three of the North Point Distillery Senior Stableford winter competition with a solid round of 36 points, ahead of Stuart Greig and Malcolm Thomson who both finished on 34.
Carol Paterson bagged the nearest-the-pin prize from the sponsors.
Pete McCartney maintained his recent purple patch to top the standings in round three of the Winter League Stableford competition after a birdie at the 15th helped him to a score of 37 points.
James Halliday birdied the final hole to take second place on 36, while a rare birdie at the tough seventh hole helped Malcolm Thomson to third place on 35 points.
This Saturday the course hosts the Rotary Club Open, while on Sunday players will be back in Winter League Stableford action.
