Pulteney prevail in annual rinks competition at Thurso

EIGHTY-four players competed on Saturday in Thurso's Royal British Legion for the annual rinks trophy.

The first semi-final saw Royal British Legion 2 – comprising Ian Pollock, Ian Cannop, Kay Rosie and Liz Rhodes – beat Lybster 1 (Paul McNeil, Dougie Sutherland, Tom Macgregor and Debbie Dixon).

In the second semi-final Pulteney Indoor – comprising Paul McKinnon, Graham John, Steven McIver and Malcolm Simpson – got the better of the Forss quartet of Peter Mackay, Peter Macdonald, Arthur Paton and Jocky Macdonald.

Pulteney got off a great start in the final, picking up six shots at the first end. RBL fought back to lead by one shot entering the final end but Pulteney prevailed to win 13-10.
