THE 15th annual Caithness invitation badminton tourney goes ahead this weekend.

It has attracted a large Shetland contingent together with players from Orkney and across the central belt.

Run by Caithness Badminton Association official Casey Sangster, the competition has become established on the Scottish circuit.

Play gets under way in Wick Games Hall tonight with the singles. Thurso Games Hall tomorrow hosts the level and mixed doubles.

Sponsors of the event are: Dounreay Community Fund; W. & A. Geddes Ltd; J. Sangster Electrical and Plumbing, and JGC Engineering and Technical Services Ltd.

Last night, Caithness were due to be in action versus Shetland in the annual intercounty.
