THE Bruce Shield league for indoor bowling has now resumed after the mid-season break.

Results from the latest action are – Week nine: Bower 6 points, Murkle 2; Canisbay 6, Lieurary 2; Castletown 3, Forss 5, Dunnet 6, Keiss 2. Week eight: Dunnet 5, Bower 3; Murkle 2, Forss 6; Keiss 4, Canisbay 4; Lieurary 6, Castletown.

? Murkle Bowling Club recently held its open rinks competition in the RBLS clubrooms in Thurso.

A total of 30 teams took part and following some excellent games throughout the day the final was between the Royal British Legion "1" and Forss.

It was the team with the home advantage that came out on top in a closely contested final.

? In the Caithness Indoor Bowls Association county league division one, Francis Street Club are 11 points ahead at the top after their recent win over Watten.

In division two, Wick Indoor Bowling Club have a narrow lead over the Weigh Inn Hotel and the Royal British Legion.
