A hundred youngsters took part in two days of football training with coaches from Scottish Premiership club Ross County in the latest event hosted by Thurso-based AG Coaching.

Sessions were held at the Dammies on Sunday and Monday for three age groups – 3-5, 6-9 and 10-15.

Sponsors were Eileen Manson, Liam McLean Joinery, Blow Your Top hairdressers, North Coast Plumbing and Heating and the Park Hotel.

Players of the event were Scott Williamson in the younger age group, Owen Munro in the middle group and Joe Anderson among the older children.

AG Coaching founder Alyn Gunn said: “It was another good event for the area, and with the number attending it once again shows the appetite for football here. I can clearly see the standard of player is increasing at each of these events.

“The Ross County coaches, Darren, Ryan and Robbie, were impressed with certain individuals. This will lead to further opportunities for the youngsters, which is one of the reasons why we put these events on.

“Many thanks to Nigel Mackenzie and Richie Campbell for their support over the two days, to the event sponsors for helping to make it happen and to the parents for continuing to put their children along and putting faith in us.

“We look forward to seeing everyone again in July with Manchester United.”
