Keiss and Thurso Pentland both had away wins on Wednesday night in Caithness AFA Division Two.

Thurso Pentland picked up their first win of the Caithness AFA Division Two season when they beat leaders Castletown 2-0 at Back Park on Wednesday night.

Eadan Ross and Adam Bailey got the goals, both in the first half.

Pentland boss Ewan Scott was delighted to get three points and a clean sheet away to a side that had taken maximum points from their opening three league fixtures.

"It was a great result and performance from every member of the team," Scott said. "Although Castletown had their chances in the second half with the wind on their backs, I thought we deserved the result and hopefully this kick-starts our league campaign.

"A special mention to the Castletown ground staff – their pitch is in excellent condition."

Top Joe's moved up to second place in the table after a 4-1 victory over Swifts at the Dammies.

Mark Hutcheon opened the scoring for Top Joe’s in the first half with a neat finish and Jack MacGregor hit a quick-fire double midway through the second period. Swifts pulled one back with a close-range effort from John Holmes before Joe's added a fourth through Jordan Bain after he got the break of the ball in the box and finished well.

Alan Steven scored twice for Keiss and Alan Ferrier was also on target as they won 3-2 at Watten. Shane Honeyman got both Watten's goals.

Keiss co-manager Kai Tait said: "I was delighted with how we played and we fully deserved the three points. We've been unlucky in having to wait so long for our first win so hopefully we can kick on from here."
