Pauline Coghill awarded gift for 40 years' service to Pony Club

Caithness branch of the Pony Club had a good turnout for its annual parents' evening and presentation of trophies at the Ulbster Arms Hotel, Halkirk.

Long-serving committee member Pauline Coghill, of Stemster, received a gift from the club as a thank-you for her 40 years of service. During her time volunteering she has supported her own children through the Pony Club as well as her grandchildren.

She has now retired from the committee.

Mrs Coghill then presented the trophies and awards to the successful riders.

Col Hildreth Cup for away from home performance: Danielle Sinclair. Round Table Cup for area team: Erin Hewitson, Lauren Oag and Danielle Sinclair. CPC Shield for mini-camp (most deserving child): Ella Simpson. Fudge Trophy for endeavour: Rachel MacGregor.

One-day-event trophies – Jefferies Cup (1.10m): Sophia Ramsøy. CPC Shield (1m): Frances Sutherland. Stevenson Cup (90cm): Lauren Oag. CPC Shield (80cm): Rowan Lee.

Overall awards – CPC Shield for attendance: Erica Pottinger. Col Hildreth horse for rally turnout (12 and over): Erin Hewitson. James Gunn Cup for rally turnout (11 and under): Aimee Holmes. Minstrel Memorial for best in 14-15: Charlotte Gillon. Gilly Ronald Cup for cross country performance: Alysha Holmes.

Open Show – Stemster Trophy for best in lead rein: Ailsa Coghill. Andrew Cardosi Cup for best ridden horse and Bowmaker Cup for champion ridden horse: Russell Skelton.
