Friday night saw Reay host its annual club championship finals with the destination of the silverware for categories in the ladies' and gents' sections decided. Warm conditions, a sun-baked course and a tricky breeze provided a stern test for the finalists.

The gents' scratch final saw youngster Euan Munro take on club vice-captain Colin Paterson. Both players had tough runs to the final, with Munro despatching Cammie Ross in the quarter-final and Brent Munro at the semi-final stage, while Paterson overcame the challenge of Tom Ross in his semi after defeating Lee Parnell in the quarters.

A keenly contested affair saw Paterson emerge triumphant to bag his second victory in the club championship a mere 28 years after his first win.

The ladies' scratch final was a repeat of last year but with a different outcome. Eleanor Tunn, who has been on a red-hot streak of late, proved too strong for Mollie O’Brien this time round to win the silverware.

The ladies' handicap final saw club stalwart Tricia Macdonald take on newcomer Pauline Craig. Craig’s appearance was made even more remarkable by the fact that she joined the club as a beginner last year, but it was Macdonald who put her experience to good use to win the trophy.

In the gents' handicap final Andy Mowat proved too strong for Bruce Mackay, and in the gents' senior final Alex Anderson got the better of Evan Sutherland to claim the spoils.

The gents' July Medal was a memorable one for young Dylan Mackenzie who claimed the first win of his fledgling golfing career with an excellent round of 90 for nett 63. Euan Munro birdied the 16th on his way to a round of 70 for nett 67 and second place.

Captain Andy Bain was edged into third place on countback after he also carded a nett 67.

Round nine was a high-scoring affair, with David Ross finishing on top of the leaderboard on countback after amassing an impressive 43 points. Joe Wilson and Jack Halliday matched his tally to finish second and third respectively, with James Halliday taking fourth on 41 points.

The ladies' Stuart Rosewell was won by Pauline Craig with a fabulous score of nett 64 following a round of 95. Eleanor Tunn birdied the seventh and 13th holes on her way to an excellent round of 73 for nett 69 and second place, while Eilidh Paterson took third place on nett 70.

Pauline Craig repeated the feat to top the standings in round eight of the ladies' Stableford competition with an impressive 44 points. Carole Cameron took second place on 40 points, while Rebecca Munro birdied the sixth on the way to 38 points and third place.

The July round of the ladies' Eclectic competition was also a high-scoring affair with Carole Cameron finishing at the top of the leaderboard on 43 points. Pam Bain took second place on 39 with a birdie at the 16th providing the highlight. Carol Paterson birdied the fourth and 13th on the way to third place and 38 points.
