The winter golf season is now in full swing at Reay, with the destination of the first piece of silverware already determined.

The October medal was played in fine conditions and Lee Parnell took full advantage to produce a barnstorming round of 70 for nett 65. Four bogeys at the first, fifth, ninth and 13th were offset by a hat-trick of birdies at the sixth, seventh and 11th for a gross score of one over par.

Finishing a distant second was Colin Munro who produced a round of 79 for nett 71. After an indifferent front nine of 42, Munro turned on the afterburners to come home in 37 which included a birdie at the 17th.

Sandy Chisholm was edged into third place on countback after his round of 84, made up of halves of 44 and 40, was good enough also for nett 71.

Round one of the Winter League Stableford was won by Simon Harper with a haul of 36 points, courtesy of a round of 75 which included a birdie at the 14th. Kenny Farmer finished second on 33 points, with Sandy Chisholm third on 30 points.

Chisholm bounced back to win round two with an excellent haul of 42 points following a round of 78 made up of halves of 37 and 39. Colin Munro finished second in the standings on 38 points, with club captain Evan Sutherland completing the podium places with a haul of 36 points.
