The Thurso course was in tremendous condition for round 23 of the A&A Mackay Builders Summer League and James Moodie was the winner with 41 points, two clear of Lee Elder.

Stewart Gunn was on his own with 38 points. Roddy Gray, Alan Swanson and Mark Foubister all had 37, with Mick Ross and Chris Williamson a shot further back.

On Saturday the medal was up for grabs and Chris Sutherland (handicap 18) had six pars on the front nine. On the back nine he managed only two but had nothing worse than a bogey. This saw him the clear winner with a nett 64.

Paul Foulkes (31) was overall second with nett 67 alongside Steven Lowe (14). Andrew Main (7), Walter Rutherford (10) and Andrew Lannon (14) all had nett six. David Dunbar had the lowest gross with a 70, nett 69, with William Durrand (15) also on nett 69.
