Andrew “Hamper” MacLeod was on fine form in Caithness Cycling Club’s weekly 10-mile time trial. He clocked 22 min 35 sec for a 78-second win over visitor Tam Fraser from Royal Navy Cycling, who had an excellent ride on a standard road bike.

Alistair Miller took two seconds off his best for an 18-second advantage over Colin Earnshaw for third place.

Several riders recorded their best times of the year, led by Lorna Stanger with a 26-second improvement, Iain Miller (23 seconds) and Alasdair Washington (11 seconds). Iain Miller increased his lead over Angus MacKay in the Handicap League but the competition is still very open with six points available for each of the seven weeks remaining.
