Andrew “Hamper” MacLeod was again on top form in Caithness Cycling Club’s weekly 10-mile time trial, to clock 21 min 59 sec at an average speed of 27.3 mph.

This was despite a tough headwind on the outward leg which typically took around three minutes more than for the return.

Second place was shared by three riders, Alistair Miller, Iain Miller and Colin Earnshaw, who all clocked their best times this season at 26 min 9 sec. Iain’s 49-second improvement gained the maximum of six points in the Handicap League.

Results: 1 Andrew MacLeod, 21 min 59 sec; 2eq Alistair Miller, Iain Miller, Colin Earnshaw, 26.09; 5 Angus MacKay, 27.04; 6 Roger Broughton, 27.49; 7 Gary Angus, 28.33; 8 Julieanne Leslie, 38.09.
