Lots of fun at Caithness Riding Club jumping day

Caithness Riding Club had a great turnout of riders for a fun jumping event at the indoor school in Halkirk on Saturday.
On this occasion the senior riders were out numbered by the junior members with some new sign-ups to the club. The younger riders were certainly on form, winning all the classes.
Each rider and horse combination was able to jump two consecutive height rounds as well as take part in a fun top-score competition.
Winning the first class of the morning was the youngest rider, six-year-old Rachel MacGregor, on Dandy, while Isla Miller and Silver rode to success in the 45-60cm section, and Leoni Kennedy saddled up Minnie to clinch the 55-60cm class.
In the 65-70cm it was the turn of Fearn McCarthy and Boo to take the red rosette, while Rowan Lee and Pedro were the winners of the 75-80cm. Lauren Oag had a successful outing, with two of her horses winning – both the 85-90cm and the 95-100cm on Lex, as well as gaining the most points in the 80cm top score competition with Mya.
The club says it is indebted to the volunteers who turned up to help on the day.
