Three Caithness Pony Club members have qualified for the dressage spring festival finals at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre in April 2021.

Lauren Oag, riding Mac, and Liam Mackenzie, riding Llanidan Bonheddwr, qualified for the novice class after coming first and second respectively at a competition held by the local club at the indoor school in Halkirk on Sunday.

Liam then went on to qualify again in the intermediate class, in which he came third, with his older sister Morven, riding Atlantic Tiffany, also qualifying after coming second.

The spring festival is set to become one of the main sporting events in the Pony Club calendar, and will include arena eventing and showjumping competitions. The Scottish final is scheduled for April 6-7.

A good number of competitors took part in the dressage at the weekend, with some young riders completing their first tests. Judge for the day was Mary Elder.
