Camp 2 have opened a six point lead at the top of Division One.

CAMPS "2" are now six points clear at the top of Wick and District Pool League’s division one.

The five-times champions were given a helping hand by Ryan Cook’s Blackstairs "2" side, who defeated Bayview "1" 7-4 in an impressive win.

With only four matches remaining in the league, it looks highly unlikely that either Bayview "1" or Crown "1" will catch the leaders.

Camps "2" continued to rack up the points with a 6-5 win over Camps "1" in a highly entertaining derby match.

Andrew Mcwatt left his opponent with seven balls and Bruce Honeyman completed an eight-ball total clearance as they helped their side take a 5-0 lead.

Camps "1" battled back to 5-3 but David Hendry quickly halted the comeback with a fine clearance to clinch the match.

Crown "1" climb to second in division one after a hard fought 6-5 win against Francis Street Club "1". Stevie Cunningham continued his great form for Crown "1" this season with an eight-ball total clearance in his singles.

FSC "1" were 5-4 ahead and only one frame away from victory but Colin Banks’s pressure clearance levelled it at 5-5. Crown "1" then took the deciding frame with Cunningham potting the all-important black.

Stuart Mckenzie remains on excellent form for Blackstairs "1". The two-time Captain’s Cup winner completed another total clearance this week as he helped his side to a 7-4 win over Commercial.

Queen’s and Seaforth Club were locked in an almighty battle on Monday night as both teams look to secure a place in the first division next season.

All the luck seemed to go against the Queen’s in this match and they eventually lost out 6-5.

Francis Street Club "2" remain on good form in the second division this season, securing themselves another two points with a 7-4 win over Crown "2".

Bayview "2" were very impressive in a 9-2 win against Mountain Dew "1", and Sinclair Bay remain top after an 8-3 win against Mountain Dew "2".

The top two teams in division two meet next Monday, when the winner will be big favourites to win the title.

Event four of the Camps Bar Pool Challenge will be held in the Camps Bar tomorrow at 1.30pm. This competition is open to anyone who wishes to play. Entry fee is £6.
