Jack and Jamie take karting club honours

CAITHNESS duo Jack Ryan and Jamie Mackay featured prominently in the prize list when the North of Scotland Kart Club held its club championship presentation at the weekend.

Jack (13), from Castletown, and Jamie (21), of Halkirk, each had a superb season, winning club championship and open championship honours – Jack for Honda Cadets and Jamie in the Senior 177 category.

Jack was also awarded the Marshals' Award, which is awarded by the marshals each year to one driver who has impressed them the most.

The other awards Jack received were the SGL and Inverness 4x4.

Jamie was runner-up for the overall club championship. The other awards Jamie received were the September Challenge Shield, fastest time lap and Lowe's of Lairg.

The overall champion was Cameron McPhie from Linlithgow in the Bambino class

Jack said he was grateful to his sponsors Autoparts Thurso, Gow's Plant Hire and Highland Dyno Services.
