Greens are aiming to take big step towards safety
The Greens can take a big step towards preserving their Caley 1 status if they come out on the right side of their home clash with bottom side North Police.
A bonus-point win on Saturday would double their current five-point advantage in the North Conference over the Aberdeen-based service outfit, who would be left with the task of winning at least three of their four remaining games to stand a chance of avoiding the drop.
Caithness, meanwhile, are looking to complete their campaign by staying undefeated at home, with play-off contenders Ellon and Aberdeenshire their other outstanding opponents at Millbank.
Head coach Cameron Boyd is hoping to have an identical squad to the one that would have faced Ellon on January 11 had the fixture not been wiped out by the weather.
Full-back Scott Webster has returned to training and could make his comeback from a shoulder injury, while lock Kevin Budge is free from suspension.
Back-three player Cameron Ryder is out after dislocating a shoulder in their last match versus Ross Sutherland and joins centre Charlie Quinn (knee) and Reece Coghill (broken fibula) on the casualty list.
Boyd said: “We have done really well to stay unbeaten in the league at home and we want to keep that intact.
“Saturday is a must-win for us as North Police are sitting bottom and it would allow us to open up a bit of a gap on them. Giving them nothing and us getting a bonus win would make life an awful lot easier for us.”
Caithness will feature a much-changed squad from the one that went down 54-24 to North Police in mid-October.
Kick-off is 2pm.
Highland 2nd XV, Mackie and Ellon all won on Saturday to enhance their chances of winning the North Conference.
The Inverness side defeated Ross Sutherland 62-7 to stay in pole position, two points ahead of Mackie, who cuffed North Police 94-21 in Stonehaven.
Ellon also kept their hopes of claiming one of the two promotion play-off places on track after returning with a 45-34 victory over Aberdeenshire, whose challenge is flagging.
North Conference placings: 1 Highland 2nd XV (played 9, points 33); 2 Mackie (9, 31); 3 Ellon (9, 30); 4 Aberdeenshire (8, 26); 5 Caithness (9, 16); 6 Ross Sutherland (9, 14); 7 North Police (7, 11).
