DESPITE a last-minute change of venue due to the weather, the British Horse Society (BHS) Highland North annual charity show was well attended.

Taking the ridden championship title was Sylvia Stewart, who has enjoyed a great showing season this year with Regal Saltire, while the reserve went to the lead rein winner Leela Macleod riding Newoak Anniversary.

In the turnout section Samantha Pottinger took the championship with Clooneybreen Colleen and the reserve went again to Leela Macleod, this time with Springoak Waterlily.

Overall winner of the in-hand section was Morven Mackenzie with her new horse Atlantic Tiffany, with the runner-up sash going to Shanrye Finley, Leoni Kennedy's new pony.

In the veteran ranks the championship went to Alison Wild with Solomon, while young Aimee Holmes was reserve with Forlan Honey Dundandy.

The show was held at the Indoor School, Halkirk, with the judges for the day travelling from Orkney – Toots Cromarty and Vicki Cursiter. The working hunter section and showjumping classes were postponed until November.
