Some stormy autumn weather restricted opportunities for competitive action at Reay over the past week, but there were still some good performances in the competitions that survived the weather.

David A Craig fired six pars and survived a non-scoring hole to win in the latest round of the North Point Senior Stableford competition with a fine tally of 35 points. Sandy Chisholm took second place with a solid round of 33 points, while Fred Groves recovered from a slow start to take third place on 31. John Brock bagged a bottle of spirits from the sponsors for his nearest the pin effort at the final hole.

In the overall standings Sandy Chisholm maintains his lead with an eight round aggregate score of 293. Pete McCartney heads the chasing pack on 285, with Jock Eunson sitting in third place on 282.

In the weekend action Julie Minchin fired a fantastic round of nett 66 to take the Ladies September Medal by a margin of five shots. Carole Cameron finished second after a steady round of nett 71, with Maggie Fecitt completing the podium places after a solid round of nett 74.

Lee Parnell fired a tremendous score of 73 for nett 69 to win the Beinn Ratha Trophy, and he had the distinction of posting the best scratch and nett scores of the day. David Mackay edged Stuart Grieg out to take second place after both finished on nett 73.

This Saturday will see the Men competing for the Donald Campbell Trophy.
