Five-star Castletown too good for Keiss in Steven Cup final

Castletown have secured at least a league and cup double after proving too good for Keiss in the Steven Cup final with a 5–0 victory.

The Division Two champions, who won the league title at a canter and promotion to the top flight next season, were in full control of the encounter at Cow Park in Lybster on Friday night.

Jack Mckechnie was the star of the show for Castletown as he scored a hat trick.

Castletown also found the net through Michael Smith and Adam Gunn as they cruised to victory and claimed their second piece of silverware this campaign.

The club could be on to claim a famous treble on Saturday, but will go in as massive underdogs in the Davie Allan Shield final, when they face Wick Groats which will be held at The Dammies in Thurso.

The final is scheduled to kick off at 3pm.

Meanwhile, Castletown continued to round off their Division Two campaign in triumphant style.

They defeated Top Joes 3-0 at Ormlie Park in Thurso on Monday night.

The Hoops proved too good for the Joelaticos.

Jordan McLean, Michael Smith and Adam Gunn all found the net in a comfortable victory for the Division Two champions.

Meanwhile, Watten recorded a shock 3-2 win over Thurso Swifts on Monday night.

Three matches took place in the Caithness First Division last night.

Tuesday saw a dress rehearsal for the Highland Amateur Cup final as Pentland United faced High Ormlie Hotspur at Dunnet.

League leaders Wick Groats continued the defence of their title as they took on Thurso Acks at The Dammies at Thurso.

There was also a clash at the bottom end of the table as Wick Thistle took on John O’Groats at Upper Bignold, as both teams look to avoid the drop.

One match is scheduled to take place in the First Division tonight as Staxigoe United are scheduled to face Lybster in Wick.

Another match is scheduled to take place on Friday, with Wick Thistle set to take on Pentland United at Upper Bignold.

Tuesday is the final day of First Division matches which will decide the title.

Wick Groats will travel to Halkirk to face High Ormlie Hotspur with Pentland United set to face Wick Thistle at Ham Park in Dunnet.

Meanwhile at the bottom half of the table, Lybster face John O’Groats at Cow Park with Staxigoe United taking on Thurso Acks at Upper Bignold in Wick.
