Autocross fans flocked to Bilbster Mains as the season got back on track following a summer break.

Twenty cars parked up for the sixth meeting of the campaign with the competing vehicles revving up in power from 1000cc to 1700cc.

If anyone was expecting the drivers to have a bit of 'race-rust', no-one told Garry Elder who blew away the cobwebs by racking up the fastest time of the day of 2 min 03 sec in his powerful Mini pick-up special.

In the 1701cc unlimited class, Gordie Donn in his Honda Civic whizzed round the flat track in 2 min 16 sec.

Overall second spot went to Garry Buchan in the silver buggy in a time of 2 min 04 sec, while third went to Lenny Humphries with his green/yellow buggy on 2 min 12 sec.

Newcomer David Durrand in a Corsa had an excellent time of 2 min 26 sec for cars up to 1000cc.

In the 1001 to 1400cc class, Michael Paterson took first place in 2 min 18 sec in his Ford Fiesta.

Peter Campbell was fastest in the 1401 to 1700cc class with his Peugeot 206 XSi in a time of 2 min 15 sec, while John Omand was best in the rear-wheel-drive unrestricted class with a silver BMW in 2 min 34 sec.

The 4x4 unlimited class saw Ronald Gunn in his VW Passat VR6 take victory a time of 2 min 24 sec.
