Convincing win for Dunbar in Thurso team matchplay event

Saturday saw the team matchplay event at Thurso Golf Club featuring Dunbar (blue) versus Wolfburn (red).

This competition is played over eight holes in the format of fourballs, foursomes and singles. The result was a convincing win for Dunbar by 27.5 v 12.5.

The A&A Mackay Builders Summer League has reached round 24 and four players finished with 38 points. The winner was Chris Williamson (handicap 10), who came back in two over par.

Nicky Doherty (7) birdied the 17th to finish in second place. Jim Sangster (2) had birdies at the seventh, ninth 11th, 13th and 15th to finish in third place.

Andrew Main (6) birdied the sixth, ninth and 13th for fourth. Mark Mackay (8), Ben Durrand (14), and Steven Osborne (11) all had 37 points, one ahead of Jordan Youngson (6), Jim Telfer (15), Iain Dunnett (7) and James Moodie.
