Saturday saw an open competition at Thurso Golf Club, sponsored by JGC Engineering and Technical Services.

Kyle Churchill proved that his Thurso Open win the previous week was no fluke as he was the clear winner with a nett 69. Innes Mitchell (8) was overall second with a nett 71, beating Ross Williamson and Scot Gray on countback.

Tyler Gordon (6) continued his good form by winning the Tom Adams Quaich on Sunday with 39 points. Gordon had birdies at the two par fives, the fourth and seventh, and was on course for another low round until he double bogeyed the 16th.

Steven Lowe (13) was second on countback from Derek Manson (10) with 37 points.

Alan Swanson (1), Mick Ross (15), Iain Boyd (10) and Jim Macleod all had 36 points.

Ronnie Dunnett (handicap 11) was the winner of round 12 of the A&A Mackays Builders Summer League.

Dunnett had birdies at the seventh and 15th and could afford a no-score at 16 to win with 39 points.

George Saunders (21) birdied the ninth as he returned 37 points, one ahead of Alan Coghill (11) and James Moodie (26).
